Are there differences between Windows and Linux environments?

Windows and Linux environments are similar in many ways, but there are differences as well. The main difference is in the fact that Windows environment has a single identifier of windows, while Linux environments have"n" other managers, such as X Window System.
The X Window System deals separately with each one of the windows, which, sometimes, does not allow you to click the windows that are in different levels of execution.

Can I print in Linux environment?

From TOTVS | SmartClient, you can print:

  • Via spool of Linux, as well as in Windows environment.
  • Via LP port, process which is similar to the one used for printing via MS-DOS, through ports /dev/lp0, /dev/lp1 e /dev/lp2.
  • Via printer set in CUPS.

Can I print straight in USB port?

No.
The USB ports depend on and are managed by the operational system and, in this case, we recommend the use of printing via spool.

Can I print through virtual printers?

No.
No virtual printer is ratified for use with product lines.

Can I print straight in the port of printers which are mapped from the network?

You can do it, however this is a non-ratified feature, as any changes performed in the updating of operational system can affect its operation.
