Metrology General Assumption

NBR - ISO 9001 (since 1994) - Inspection of control, measurement and tests equipment .

Inspection of Control, Measurement and Tests Equipment.

Generalities

Supplier must establish and keep procedures registered to control, calibrate and keep inspection, measurement and tests equipment , used by supplier to demonstrate the product conformity with specified documents. Inspection, measurement and tests equipment must be used in a way they ensure that measurement uncertainty be recognized and be consistent with required measurement capacity.

Control Procedure

Supplier must:

a) determine measurement to be performed and required accuracy, and select appropriated inspection, measurement and tests equipment with accuracy and necessary precision.

b) to identify all inspection, measurement and tests equipments that can affect product quality, calibrate them and adjust them to predefined intervals, or before the usage, against certificated equipment that has a known valid relation with national or international recognized standards If these standards have not been applied, the basis used for calibration must be registered.

c) definir o processo empregado para a calibração de equipamentos de inspeção, medição e ensaios, incluindo detalhes como: tipo do equipamento, identificação única, localização, freqüência de calibração, método de calibração, critérios de aceitação e a ação a ser tomada quando os resultados forem insatisfatórios;

d) to identify inspection, measurement and tests equipment with an appropriated indicator, or approved identification records, to present the calibration situation;

e) to keep calibration records of inspection measurement and tests equipment;

f) to evaluate and register previous tests and inspection results validity when the inspection, measurement and tests equipment are not calibrated.

Tip:

The metrological validation system for NBR ISO 10012 measurement equipment can be a guideline.
