Short Method

Measurement system evaluation in the Repeatability and Reproducibility study, but using a reduced amount of operators and parts.

and 05 parts => d2 = 1.19, thus:

Where: = Specified Higher Limit - Specified Lower Limit

All calculations are based on an 5,15 standard deviation estimate (99.0% of the area under the normal curve).

Suggested R&R limits:

from 0% to 10% - GOOD Measurement System;
from 10% to 30% - ACCEPTABLE Measurement System;
Above 30% - UNACCEPTABLE Measurement System.

For this evaluation, a minimum of 5 parts and 2 operators are required, while the traditional method (long method) requires 2 cycles and that the number of parts and operators is higher than 15.
