SGI - Indicator Management System
The Indicator Management System environment offers solutions to control all processes of the company using measurement instruments (indicators) to evaluate information resources.
Once the organization defined its mission and goals, the progress of these goals must be measured. These measurements are possible through indicators, also known as KPIs.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI) help your company to define and measure its progress towards your organizational goals.
Thus, an indicator is primarily a measuring tool used to define qualitative and/or quantitative aspects of a given phenomenon, in order to evaluate results and support decision-making.
Quantitative indicators are those that have a counting characteristic. Qualitative indicators, in turn, are those that refer to the concern with quality evaluation and survey.
To choose indicators, one must have a deep knowledge of the organization and/or systems to be traded. Different types of indicators exist so as to fit different organizations' needs, aiming at measure activities and reach goals established.
In this perspective, performance indicators are seen as a tool to measure user satisfaction and service quality, in order to evaluate results and support decision-making.
What is Indicator Management System (SGI)?
It is tool to analyze KPI's, which enables the analysis of scorecards (panels) of these indicators. In addition, it also follows up action plans created to reach the goals of the indicators. SGI was conceived to reach and monitor goals that clearly evidence all stages of SGI, from the planning to the action or decision-making.
SGI supports an analysis based on BSC methodology (Balanced ScoreCard).
Does your company define, measure and follow up its indicators and goals?
The importance of measuring is unquestionable due to the exponential growth and technical development of recent decades. It is combined with the need to qualify and adapt products, as well as constant focus on customer/user satisfaction.
What are the Key Performance Indicators (KPI)?
KPI or indicators are quantified measurements that anticipate critical success factors. They must reflect targets of the organization according to its goals. Performance indicators measure the efficiency of an information unit.
They also help you get to know your business more. They contribute to the interaction of indicators of all areas and of activities to be performed, measuring the impact of each activity and providing referential values for decision makers.
Do they have to be quantifiable?
The key performance indicator provides a number, which can be a percentage, a rate or a pure number, but it must be the exact tool to define and measure this relation.
Many things can be measured but not represent the key to the company success. Therefore, when selecting KPIs, you must select factors that are essential to the achievement of the company's goals. These KPIs must be small numbers so that everybody is focused on the achievement.
Who is the SGI user?
Every person in charge of a certain department or indicator inside the company must be a user of this tool to follow up the performance.
