Breakdown
Balanced Scorecard has a feature to fully breakdown a strategy into a new one. There are three types of breakdown:
• | Shared: the same objective is used in both the origin and target strategies; |
• | Contributive: one objective at the Origin is exchanged for another at the Target; |
• | Hybrid: the new strategic plan contains both the Shared link and the Contributive one. |
Moreover, you can simply duplicate the strategy with no relation between Origin and Target objectives.
Procedures
To perform a Breakdown:
1. | In Tools of chosen Strategy, click Duplicator. |
2. | Enter a name for the new Strategy. |
3. | Enter the company in which the new Strategy is created. |
4. | Enter the type of Breakdown to be used (Shared or Contributive). |
5. | Enter whether you wish to duplicate or to breakdown. If you choose duplication, only a copy of the entire target strategy is created in the new strategy, with no connection between the origin and the target objectives. If you choose breakdown, Balanced Scorecard automatically creates a link between origin and target objectives, viewable in the Breakdowns folder. |
To execute breakdown maintenance:
In case of breakdown, all links between origin and target objectives are automatically created. Links automatically created by the system can be changed:
1. | In the Breakdown folder of chosen strategy, select link to make needed changes. Always enter the origin and target objectives, as well as link description and type: shared or contributive. |
How to query Breakdown in Strategic Map:
The Breakdown feature, with which you can create links between objectives of different companies, contains the analysis resource within the strategic map. Right-click any Strategic Map objective. Choose Breakdown.
The query screen then displays the objectives of another company, broken down from the chosen objective. Thus, you can more comprehensively analyze the performance of a single objective in different companies.
For further details on broken down objective, click its name.
