Ranking
Ranking aims at selecting data of table or chart through a fixed amount of records, ordered by value, in ascending or descending order.
Through it, the best or worst attributes can be viewed, according to the indicator chosen.
Creating a Ranking
In the window Definition, of table or chart, click the Ranking tab.
A screen is displayed with all cube indicators, including the virtual ones.
To define a ranking, enter:
• | Indicator: it indicates which indicator must be used for the query ranking. |
• | Process: the type of processing used for the query ranking. Where: |
• | n Highest: It ranks the n highest values for the indicator selected. Where n is the value entered in the field Amount or %. |
• | n Lowest: It ranks the n Lowest values for the indicator selected. Where n is the value entered in the field Amount or %. |
• | ABC Curve: It ranks according to certain ranges established by the administrator. |
• | Pareto Principle: It divides the ranking range in the proportion 80/20. Enter 20 in the value box. Pareto Principle says that 80% of results achieved result from only 20% of our efforts and we must consider this 20%. |
• | Amount or %: It indicates the amount of records to be classified, if the field Process is n Highest or Lowest, or it indicates the percentage to be considered, if the field Process is ABC Curve. |
• | Classification Range: It is used only in the ranking of ABC Curve to establish the range of values to be classified. Fill out with at least 3 value ranges, with the respective fields Percentage, Description, and Color. The sum of percentages of ranges must totalize 100% to cover values to be classified. |
If you want the ranking to be always applied to the query execution, select the option Display with Ranking Applied.
The option Calculate Others enables values out of the ranking to be totalized.
Do not forget to save your changes by clicking Send.
These steps are also used for the chart.
In queries in table format with definition of drill-down, you can rank per Drill Down level, just like you can do in queries displayed in charts. This new option is available in the folder Ranking.
1. Definition of query with drill-down.
2. In the folder Ranking with the field Definition highlighted: In this folder, you can make configurations necessary to run the Ranking. You must fill out the fields according to your need and, depending on the options added, more requests may exist or not.
Options:
1. | Display it with ranking applied: By selecting this option, the result of query is displayed with ranking applied, according to the definitions made in the next block. |
2. | Calculate Others: By selecting this option, records that were not selected to compose the ranking are used to compose a row of total, identified with the title [others]. |
3. | Calculate Subtotals: In each level break, a row of subtotals is displayed. |
4. | Calculate Total: A row with the general total is calculated, identified with the title [total]. |
Ranking
1. | Definition: It enables you to select the type of ranking processing to be made, indicating how the processing is and checking if more information is required. |
2. | (Undefined): It indicates that there is no ranking processing. |
3. | Default: In this type of definition, the following items are requested: an indicator, how the processing is made, and the amount or percentage of records to be considered. The indicator selected is used as a parameter of order, taking the lowest drill-down level into consideration. |
4. | ABC Curve: In this type, data and behavior are similar to the previous type, where the amount field is replaced with a table of ranges, in which the percentage of record that composes the range and, optionally, a description and a color is specified. |
5. | Per level: In this type, the same data of the standard are requested. However, each one of drill-down levels is requested for specifications. For processing, only the respective level of the definition is considered. |
