New Product Price
This program allows the user to simulate the price of the new developed product, by considering the manufacturing costs.
The simulation can be carried out by two methods:
| • | Cost addition: traditionally used method in which, after reaching the manufacturing cost, other costs will be added until reaching the price ceiling to be paid by the end consumer. |
This calculation result is defined by:
Manufacturing cost + Unitary development + Miscellaneous costs = price ceiling, where
Manufacturing cost = amount previously calculated by the Manufacturing cost program;
Miscellaneous costs = calculation done by formula defined in the developed product version;
If there is not formula, the amount entered in the version file is used. |
Unitary development = Development project/dilution factor;
Development project = calculation done by formula defined in the developed product version.
If there is not formula, the amount entered in the version file is used. |
| • | Price ceiling subtraction: method that determines the price ceiling and, from it, miscellaneous costs are subtracted until reaching the manufacturing cost. |
Price ceiling - miscellaneous costs - unitary development = manufacturing cost, where
Miscellaneous costs = calculation done by formula defined in the developed product version;
If there is not formula, the amount entered in the version file is used. |
Unitary development = Development project/dilution factor.
It is necessary to specify of what company and branch (site) the legacy fixed item costs should be considered.
The company and branch options are only available when there is integration with Datasul legacy. |
Procedures
To simulate the price of new product:
| 1. | In New Product Price, enter data according to help instructions. |
See the main fields in Main Fields/Controls.
| 2. | Press Calculate. |
The calculation result will be shown according to data entered.
3. Press Save to record all amounts entered and the calculation result.
Related Features
To calculate the manufacturing cost:
1. In New Product, press Calculate Manufacturing Cost.
It will show the Version Manufacturing Cost, where it is possible to define the parameters for the manufacturing cost calculation of the product version selected.
