Purposes of Quality Audits
General purpose of ISO 10011-1 is quality assurance, regardless of other plans to reach it.
Quality Audits must verify objective evidences that the Quality System audited is capable of ensuring that products are proper to use and safe to users, and that they also comply with rules and regulations.
They also help decision-making and allocation of resources. Personnel in charge is warned about opportunities of improvement.
