Second Measurement Unit/Amount in Second Measurement Unit
These fields are updated automatically when the product is entered if the fields required to convert the second measurement unit are configured. These fields are configured in Product Register.
Microsiga Protheus® enables you to use two measurement units:
| • | Standard Measurement Unit - used in all transactions, from purchase to sales. |
| • | Second Measurement Unit - used in transactions in which the parts work with different measurement units, obtained from the conversion factor determined. |
| • | Conversion Type - it determines how the second measurement unit is obtained: multiplying or dividing the first measurement unit by the conversion factor |
| • | Conversion Factor - value to be applied to the first measurement unit to obtain the second one, according to the conversion type. |

The balance in both units is controlled by the system, but the unit cost reflects the value in the standard unit.
If the product does not have a fixed conversion factor when, for example, it passes through variations of physical factors (humidity, heat, etc), you can enter the amount in both measurement units, entering directly their values, without the conversion factor registration.
