The Microsiga Protheus® system uses some general and specific configurations called parameters.

Parameter is a variable that acts as a key element when certain processing is run. According to its content, different results can be obtained.

Distribution Management module uses several parameters. Some of them are common to other system modules. If they are changed, the configuration continues to be valid for other modules.

Some parameters are merely generic configurations, such as: configuration of peripherals (printers, for example), opening dates, currency nomenclatures, etc.
